As of June 2011, there are sixteen software programs approved by USDA available to State agencies, school food authorities and local schools for implementing Nutrient Standard Menu Planning (NSMP). Before being approved by USDA, these software programs are tested and evaluated for use in conducting nutrient analyses that meet School Meals Initiative requirements.
