Chef with Children
A partnership was formed between Chefs and School Food Service Personnel to help implement the School Meals Initiative passed in 1995. Since that time many activities have taken place, including Chef Challenge culinary competitions, the School Breakfast Campaign, and mutual educational programs.

Directory of Chefs for Nutrition Partnerships

Chefs who are willing to volunteer their time in schools to inspire children about cooking and food choices are added to the Directory of Chefs continuously. Search for a chef in your state, and get your students excited about cooking and food!

On October 15, during National School Lunch Week, USDA launched this internet tool to connect chefs with schools as well as share with others their efforts and ideas. There is a role for the culinary community to play in ensuring our schools provide nutritious food to students and already, there are chefs across the country who in a variety of ways are connecting with schools.‪
