Online Web Tool for Submitting Nutrient Data

***As of 12:00 AM EST, Sunday, January 9, 2012, any information added or changed in this web tool will be incorporated into CN 17, scheduled for release in Spring 2013. ***

***Note: Currently, any item with a blank Value Type Code cannot be marked as discontinued. Users can go to Edit Product from the navigation bar, search for the item they wish to discontinue and update the record with the missing Value Type Code by selecting the appropriate check box. After the record is saved, the user can then return to the navigation bar to Mark Product as Discontinued, without receiving an error message. ***

Welcome to the USDA Child Nutrition Database Online Web Tool for submitting nutrient data for foods offered in school meal programs. In order to access our website to submit or edit your nutrient data, follow these steps:

1. Set up a Level 1 USDA eAuthentication account by clicking the Register button. After you enter the requested information (name and address), a system generated email will be sent to the email address that you provide (in about 15 minutes). The email contains instructions on how to activate your account. Remember to keep your User ID and password.

2. Once your account is activated, return to this page and click the Sign In button to access the interactive website.

You can return to this page and start with the Sign In button at any time to check on the status of data you previously submitted online or continue working on saved data. Do not submit both online data and a paper form for the same food items.

The sign in button is temporarily disabled from December 17, 2012 until spring 2013.
