Abstract: The Food Purchasing for Child Care Centers Instructor Guide and Participant Manual were written for small child care centers that serve up to 150 meals daily to children and caregivers. The Instructor Guide provides detailed instructions on how lessons can be presented and follows the same organization as the participant manual.
Lessons are divided into 12 sections ranging in time from 15 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes and are designed to be taught in a 2-day workshop setting. Detailed information about menu planning is not a part of this course but some guidance is given on how to use a menu. PowerPoint slides are included for each lesson.
