CACFP - What's in a Meal? - Healthy Hoosier Edition

This manual is intended to assist Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) personnel in providing quality, nutritious meals that comply with CACFP meal pattern requirements. Contains sections on nutrition, healthy recipe modification, food labeling, feeding infants, food handling and sanitation, cultural foods, recipe evaluation and crediting foods.


HealthierUS School Challenge Video Series

This series of videos showcases best practices for the HealthierUS School Challenge. The first video in the set provides an introduction to the HUSSC and highlights a corporation that received the silver award at nine schools. The other three videos focus on specific areas of the HUSSC criteria and follow 5 schools from around the state as they work to apply for an award.

This publication showcases best practices from schools that implemented GameOn! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge. This resource highlights fun and engaging nutrition and physical activities conducted in forty Indiana schools with funding from a 2009 USDA Team Nutrition Grant.


Nutrition Lessons

These free nutrition lessons, developed by Indiana Team Nutrition, include lesson plans to incorporate in math, science, reading/language art, and combined curriculum classes. All lessons are appropriate for elementary schools, with the goals of promoting nutrition curriculum and education. Lessons for science and combined curriculum classes are also available for middle and high schools. Examples include English Lessons with Citrus Fruit, Floating Orange Experiment, Creating a School Garden, and ideas for field trips.


RECIPE for Growing Healthy Children: Child Care Culinary Workshop
